Hiking
- You can hike around the town of Strawberry.
- Or take a brisk one mile hike uphill into the woods to Pinecrest Lake
- and then maybe add the longer hike around the lake.
- For more strenuous hiking follow Herring Creek up stream for several miles into the National Forest.
If you plan to hike beyond the edges of Strawberry, be sure to let a friend know when you depart, which direction
and trail you plan to take and when you expect to return.

Fishing and Boating
Wet a line in the river just a few steps from your cabin.
Go fishing on Pinecrest Lake(2 mi) or Beardsley Lake(15 mi) only short drives away.
Pinecrest Lake Marina has rental
boats, party barges and paddle boats.
Beardsley Lake has no services, but is much larger and less populated so bring your own boat or fish from the shore.

Skiing
Winter provides Downhill Skiing at Dodge Ridge Ski Area.
Also there are many trail heads and miles of cross country ski trails.
For those seeking the extreme, the well equipped and trained athlete can explore the fabulous back country on your
own.

Snowplay
Winter play in the snow for the whole family is available at Leland
Meadows - Hi Sierra Snow Play area.
just a short distance up the road provides equipment rental and groomed slopes with a warming hut and food service for all.
Other areas along the road into the forest can be reached but are not as safe nor is easy parking generaly available.
Other Recreation
Pinecrest Lake is just two miles by road in the summer for boating, fishing or laying on the beach.
Horse back riding is available at two stables just a few miles away and Ice Skating is available in Long Barn in the winter
Live theater is abundant in Tuolumne County with several live theater groups.
Movies and other entertainment are available at Pinecrest all summer under the stars and in Sonora all year long.

Pets
Most of our units allow your well-behaved pets to enjoy the same stay that relaxes and blesses you. We have a leash law in the county and so use a leash even in the forest, and please clean up the residue from their visits to our beautiful surroundings.
